Are millennials ready to make a big improvement in the Critical Illness market?

At some point, a more normal life will continue. Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Critical Illness Insurance, says one of the changes he expects to see in the world of life and health insurance will be aware that the impact of Baby Boomers is waning.

"Long Live The Millennials" could be the new focus for insurance companies and agents, Slome said, one reason it expects criticism to be a significant development for Disease insurance .

” The new normally winners will be those who recognize the changes and act in comparison, " says Slome, noting that life insurance can be a loser, so millennials may be more inclined to act on the value proposition of critical disturbance insurance.

Slome notes that for the first time in millennials, it is the largest portion of the U.S. population. He predicts their dominance will affect insurance trends over the next three decades.

“There are currently 71.6 million Baby Boomers, compared to 72.1 million Millennium,” says Slome, citing data based on the latest U.S. Census estimates that report data by July 2019.

“Millennials will be the dominant generation over the next few decades as the number of Baby Boomers and Generation Xers declines,” Slome adds. "By 2050, experts predict there will be 16.2 million boomers, compared to 72 million Y Generation."

Generation Y is often identified as those born in 1981 and 1996.

“These men and ladies are now between the ages of 24 and 39 and they're going to change everything in the insurance world,” Slome says. "One of the chief beneficiaries will be critical illness insurance products. Especially for thousands of years, products favored by Boomers will see the risk / reward of this product, especially when compared to life insurance. ”

Slome predicts the critical illness insurance market is poised for pathetic development.

"There are on average five million Americans who currently have some form of this coverage. The economy is for this generation and I expect we will see exponential growth once life starts again, ”says Slome.
